National competition
“Plovdiv Aeromodelling Cup”

I. The Competition.

National competition “Aeromodelling Cup Plovdiv” is an aeromodelling competition.
It is hold according to the rules of FAI and BFA for respective classes and is accomplished in accordance with:„Regulations for organizing and realizing of aeromodelling competitions” from 01.01.2009. The competition is oriented to aeromodelling classes of radio-control sailplanes.

History of the competition.

“Plovdiv Cup” is created as aeromodelling competition and being realized through the years thanks to our colleague and friend Nikolay Peychev. The beginning was laid in 2004. Together with N. Peychev, a group of aero and rocket modelists from Plovdiv and the region works on providing the complete organization and realization. The competition was carried out in various formats continuously till 2008. In 2009 more people from Plovdiv’s aeromodelling communities got involved in its organization. In 2010 the whole organization of preparation and carrying out of the competition is fully changed.

II. Basic Organization Structure of the Competition.

1. Organizer.
2. Organizational committee – to secure and realize the organization for preparation and holding of the competition.
3. Competition’s Guidance – with main task to realize the competition according to planned aims and rules.

ІІІ. Main Purposes of the Competition.

1. To popularize aeromodelling sport in Plovdiv and in the country.
2. To strengthen the established by N. Peychev and friends tradition for accomplishing the competition.
3. To attain further development of organizing and realizing the competition, especially with reference to:


- Fulfilling the minimal requirements and terms for accomplishing an international competition.
- stand to BFA in 2011 or 2012 for some competition classes to get rank of a national championship.


ІV. Structure of the competition. Competition classes it is purposed to.

“Aeromodelling Cup Plovdiv”is a competition which has rank of a National Competition.
It is an open competition for classes: F3J; F5B; F5Bull. All aeromodelists are allowed to participate in it.
According to a resolution of BFA, the final position in class F3J adds points in determining the national team for 2011.

V. Participation Rights.

1. Any competitor who owes an aero model the technical properties of which fulfill the requirements of the sporting code rules in the respective class has the right to participate. The competitor is required to pay subscription fee for the respective year as well as a participation fee.
2. Age restrictions:
- A competition participant is considered as a youth if in the competition’s year he is under or is turning 18 years.
- a competition participant is considered as a child if in the competition’s year he is turning 15 years.
- in case that in certain class participate 3 or more children or youths then it is obligatory to perform a separate position for them.

VІ. Competition executive body. Fees.

Competition’s executive body organizes the competition in accordance with planned purposes and rules.
Members of the executive body:

Responsibilities of the executive body are:

- Director
Responsible for the order of the competition, safety, medical providing, protection, etc.

- Chief Judge
Leads the competition. Responsible for observing the sport rules and the realization of the competition’s program. Resides the whole judge staff. Assists the secretary in processing the data. Resolves contestations and cases. Gives instructions to judges and timekeepers. Within a week after closing the competition prepares official protocol and sends it for publishing to BFA.

- Main Secretary
Responsible for processing the data and for publishing it during the competition.

- Technical Providing
Responsible for preparing the field of flights. Provides for the functioning of all the technical resources related to the realization of the competition.

- Public relations
Responsible for all the relations and interactions and media.

- Housekeeper
Supports the director in providing order, security and safety through the time of the competition. Provides for the electric supply and the preliminary preparation of the flight field. Provides for catering and water supply as well as all the related hygienic daily activities. Determines and frames the camping area /tent area/.

VІІ. Judges and Judiciary.

1. General organization of the judiciary.
- The chairman of the judicial staff of BFA together with the organizer determines the candidatures for Chief Judge and Main Secretary.
- The organizer himself determines the rest of the judicial staff, at that, obliged to provide sufficient number of judges with high level of qualification.
- The organizer undertakes expenses for traveling, food and accommodation of the judges, unless otherwise stipulated.
- The organizer together with BFA provides all the technical means necessary to ensure the judiciary.
2. Judiciary Staff:
- Head Judge: Valentin Bratkov
- Judges: from the enclosed list.
3. Technical providing for the judiciary.

VІІІ. Information about the competition. Program.

1. The organizer of the competition prepares and submits all the necessary documents to BFA so that the latter can include them in the national sport calendar.
2. The organizer together with the Head Judge determines and signs the competition’s program at least 2 months before the competition start.
3. The organizer confirms or gives up to the realization of the competition one month before the competition start and notifies the secretary of the BFA and all the competitors who have claimed participation by that time.
4. On confirming the carrying out, organizer prepares and circulates:
- bulletin for the competition
- registration form for participation
- others
5. In case of very unfavorable weather forecast or other force-majeure conditions, a week before the competition organizer confirms again its carrying out.

ІX. Participation fee. Other Financial Conditions.

1. On confirming the competition, the organizer deposits in BFA certain amount of money for insurance, etc.
2. The organizer together with the Organizational committee determines the participation fee to be gathered from each competitor.
3. In 2010 the participant fees for the competition are as follows:
- The youth and the children participate free of charge.
- The rest of competitors have due participation fee of 10 BGN for one class and 5 BGN for every additional class.

X. Safety measures.

Not allowing accidents and safe running of the competition are the points of vital importance for the organizer and Organizational Committee.

- General safety measures are performed in accordance with BFA’s: „Safety measures on organizing and realizing of aeromodelling competitions” valid of 06.2006.
- Additional safety measures. They are related to the comparatively close location of the flight field to the “Trakia” highway. Explanation on these conditions will be given at the opening of the competition.


XІ. Protests, Disqualifications. Discontinuation of the competition.

All these categories are settled according to BFA’s: „Regulations for organizing and realizing of aeromodelling competitions” valid of 01.01.2009.

- For the first placed: medal and cup
- For the second and the third placed: medal
